Why do Hydrangeas change their colour depending on what type of soil they are in? what causes this?

it has to do with the soil ph. If it is acidic they will be one color or if alkaline they will be another.

Because they respond to the acidity or akalinity of the soil the same way as litmus paper does in the science lab
